Swapping or selling shifts

  • I need to be notified by noon the day of the shift so I can text the team to the rest of the chapter.

  • If you are unable to fulfill your duties or find a replacement you will receive a J board.

  • You are responsible for knowing your shifts ahead of time. The semester's schedule is posted below so you have maximum notice.

  • Strategies for selling a shift:

  • Offer to pay someone in a large GroupMe

  • Swap shifts with a friend

  • If you are really riding the struggle bus text me

  • Drivers

  • You are responsible for making sure you have a working phone and car.

  • If you don't have a car ask to borrow a friend's

  • This system only works if we all do our part, be cooperative, and do not be rude to brothers you give rides to.

  • No guests in the vehicle, only Pikes you are giving rides to.

  • You need to have your license and registration while driving.

  • Double-check that you do not have any booze of illegal substances anywhere in the car. You put everyone in the car at risk of getting an MIP if you do.

  • You need to be obeying traffic laws. This includes texting while driving. Respond to text messages when you are dropping off/picking up.

  • If you get pulled over, this is what you need to do:

  • The driver should be the only one speaking.

  • The driver needs to say he is just giving some friends a ride home. You are NEVER to mention Pi Kappa Alpha or that you are in a fraternity.

  • Do not refer to yourself as a sober driver. That implies that others are not sober.

  • No one besides the driver is legally obligated to take a field sobriety test, especially a breathalyzer.

  • If you pack your car make sure that only one person is in the front passenger seat.

  • Be respectful and cooperative with the officer.

  • Riders:

  • Listen to the driver's requests. If you are causing issues the driver has full permission to submit a J-board.
